A 25-year-old Carthage man died in a Sanford shooting on Tuesday morning.
Calvin Lester, Jr. “suffered a single gunshot wound in the parking lot of a local eating establishment Fat Juniors Grill at 4900 Womack Road,” said Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Lester was pronounced deceased on the scene.
“The incident that occurred today does not involve employees or owners of the Grill,” said the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. “It is believed that the victim worked at a nearby manufacturing facility. The business was not open at the time of this incident.”
Detectives are searching for a dark, possibly black, four-door Toyota Camry with front-end damage that an unknown Black male was operating.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office did not release any other details.
