Paging Dr. Mantle and Dr. Mantle: Amazon Prime Video has dropped an official teaser trailer for its upcoming small-screen reimagining of David Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers!
In the limited series, Rachel Weisz takes on the dual role of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, identical twin gynaecologists who share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes—including pushing the boundaries of medical ethics—in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s health care to the forefront.
Alice Birch (Normal People) created, wrote, and executive produced Dead Ringers, with Weisz also serving as an executive producer. Directors on the project included Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body), Karena Evans (Snowfall), and Lauren Wolkstein (Y: The Last Man). Rounding out the cast are Britne Oldford (American Horror Story: Asylum), Poppy Liu (Tales of the Walking Dead), Michael Chernus (Werewolves Within), Jennifer Ehle (Saint Maud), and Emily Meade (Nerve).
All six episodes of Dead Ringers are set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on April 21st. Check out the teaser trailer below!
