r/horror – Brightburn deserves a sequel imo, but would it even work now that The Boys is such a massive hit?

If they leaned hard into the horror aspects, like for example the Aquaman clone teased looks terrifying, then I think it maybe could work. I really liked this movie, and I want to see and learn more about the alien species that sent the kids (there’s multiple meteors, so it’s not just Brandon), as well as what Brandon would do to take over the world.

But I think The Boys is already doing the whole “what if superheroes weren’t good” thing better, and especially after last season’s cliffhanger showing Ryan starting to embrace evil, and he’s even stronger than Homelander. So idk if people would respond well to another “kid goes from sweet and innocent to evil Superman” thing
