Police responded to an unresponsive person near the Greenwood neighborhood early this morning.  

When officers arrived at about 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of North 85th Street and Aurora Avenue North, they were directed to a running vehicle with a sleeping driver.  

As officers woke the driver, they noticed a firearm in the vehicle. The 42-year-old male suspect was detained and after further investigation was placed under arrest.  

Officers recovered the following from the vehicle: 

  • Approximately 451.2 grams of marijuana (illegal amount) 
  • Stolen firearm 
  • Multiple Identification Cards 

The 42-year-old male suspect was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of narcotics, and his outstanding felony warrant. He was later booked into SCORE Jail. Police will request additional charges for the possession of the stolen identification cards.
