Seattle Police officers responded to a fatal hit and run collision in SODO after a motorist struck and killed a pedestrian Thursday night.

At approximately 10:40 p.m. Seattle Police officers assigned to the south precinct were on routine patrol when they heard a collision. Officers arrived at the intersection of 4th Avenue South and South Lander Street and found a woman in the roadway unresponsive.

Officers attempted lifesaving measures until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived and declared the 40-year-old victim deceased.

Officers secured the scene and conducted an area check for the involved vehicle. The suspect and the vehicle were not located. 

Police are looking for a white 2015-2023 Dodge Charger with significant front-end damage last seen traveling at a high rate of speed away from the scene.

Traffic Collision detectives arrived on scene and will be leading the investigation.
